Basic Coastal Cruising
This course is designed for the sailor who wishes to be able to Bareboat Charter (charter a boat without a professional skipper). The sailor needs to have previous experience to start with this course (needs to know how to "Head Up", "Bear Away", "Tack" & "Gybe").
Prerequisites
ASA101 (Basic Keelboat Sailing), or relevant experience.
Please Note:
If you have taken the ASA 101 through our school and have already received your PFD and materials you will want to purchase our Upgrade to ASA103 Course.
If you took the ASA 101 at a different school or are challenging the ASA 101, you will purchase this course. The difference in pricing is to pay for the lifejacket and access to the "Theory 1" and "Know Your Knots" classes.
Upon Completion
You will have the knowledge, practical application, and ASA certification to bareboat charter in any U.S. waters. Please note that if you wish to charter bigger sailboats or outside the U.S. you will need ASA104 certification.
Included
An inflatable lifejacket (retailed at $119.99) handed out at either the "Theory 1" classroom session or the "Know Your Knots".
